Folklor Village began with something very close to my heart my two boys. They started dancing folklórico when they were just a year old, and as their mom, I quickly realized how difficult it was to find the shoes, clothing, and traditional accessories they needed here in the U.S.

During a trip to Mexico, I mentioned to our dance team that I was going, and several families asked if I could bring back folklórico items for their dancers. Of course, I said yes. What started as bringing a few things back for my boys and our dance family quickly grew into something much bigger and that is how Folklor Village was born.

Today, I’m Juanita Burgueño, Founder & CEO of Folklor Village, based in Rialto, California. But this journey has never been mine alone. My husband, Gustavo Burgueño Gonzalez, may be the one working quietly behind the scenes, but he has always been by my side supporting what I’ve built. And my mom has been one of my biggest cheerleaders, constantly reminding me how special it is to create something that not only supports our family, but also gives back to our community and helps keep our culture and traditions alive.

What began with two little boys dancing folklórico has grown into a business serving dancers, families, schools, and studios and I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come.
